With a good partnership with Lille, it is likely that Arsenal will get the signature of striker Jonathan David next summer.
Arteta shared after the victory over Brentford
Recently Football.London revealed that Jonathan David is one of the strikers in the sights of coach Mikel Arteta, alongside two players Alexander Isak, Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Speaking to Radio Canada in January, David’s agent, Nick Mavromaras, said his client would leave Lille at the end of the season.
David is considering the possibility of joining Arsenal.
“For us, the goal is to finish the season with Lille, but this will be his last season there for a number of reasons,” Mavromaras said.
“I think the Premier League is a great option for him. I think he’s also very fond of Spain…”
“Those two tournaments are his priorities, but nothing is ruled out. You never know with Paris Saint-Germain or the big Italian clubs (could do). It’s all the clubs. It’s normal for this big ministry to be interested in the top scorer in Ligue 1, but I can tell you, today there has been no formal offer.”
The Evening Standard had previously reported that Arsenal were looking at a number of different options and David was on their shortlist .
Meanwhile, Goal confirmed Arsenal is a club that has long admired David, and mentioned Arsenal’s strong relationship with the French club , following the acquisitions of Gabriel Magalhaes and Nicolas Pepe. This could be a plus point for Arsenal to close this deal soon.
