No. 12 Harvard Set to Face No. 6 Louisville in First Round of NCAA Tournament

PRINCETON, N.J. — No. 12 Harvard will continue its dominant regular season as the Crimson will take on ACC regular season champion and No. 6 Louisville in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Friday Nov. 12 at 2:30 p.m. in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Crimson, which went 7-0 in League play to clinch its sixth Ivy League title, will make its seventh trip to the NCAA Tournament. Harvard has earned a berth to the tournament three times in the last five seasons, including a historical run to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2018. The Crimson carry a 10-game win streak into the tournament, the program’s second-longest winning streak. Defensively, Harvard has established itself as one of the top in the nation, ranking first with a 0.42 goals-against average while shutting out nine opponents throughout 2021. Senior defender Hannah Pearce, the 2021 Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year and unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection, is a critical part of the team’s defensive structure, while she also leads the team with 28 points on 13 goals and two assists. On the other side of the ball, Harvard’s offense is ranked fifth with 2.75 assists per game and sixth with an average scoring margin of 2.03. The Crimson lead the country with a .938 winning percentage. The winner would face the winner of Michigan/Miami (OH) on Sunday, November 14 at 1 p.m.
