Inna Palacios is honored to reach the 50th limit for Filipinas at home

MANILA, Philippines – Inna Palacios had a very special 50th match against the Philippine women’s soccer team.

Palacios, assisted by goalkeeper Olivia McDaniel, started for Filipinas when they beat Singapore, 7-0, during the AFF Women’s Soccer Championship on Wednesday night at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The La Salle standout enjoyed her 50th hat at home in front of their fans.

“It’s still a long time coming. I’m incredibly grateful and honored to always represent the country and to be here for the 50th time here at home means so much more,” Palacios said in the team’s video interview.

Coach Alen Stajcic rested McDaniel and put on the Palacios, who helped the national team to a second win in Group A after a 1-0 win over Australia last Monday.

The veteran goalkeeper is honored to remain a part of the women’s soccer program, having made history this year after signing up. got tickets to the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time next year and win bronze medal at the 31st Southeast Asian Games.

The Filipinas, who have six points in Group A, are looking to continue their explosive year in the AFF tournament when they face Malaysia next Friday.

Palacios is confident her team has what it takes to be successful in the regional championship.

“We are always working to get better as an individual and as a team, so if we all keep that growth mindset then I’m sure we can really go far with that growth mindset. as a group,” she said.
