MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines thrashed Singapore 7-0 on Wednesday to take the top spot in Group A of the AFF Women’s Soccer Championship at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Six players had their names on the scoreboard as Filipinas struggled a bit against Singapore to claim their second of many games at the regional championship.

Isabella Flanigan, Tahnai Annis and Sarina Bolden scored in the first half before Sara Eggesvik, Kaya Hawkinson and Anicka Castaneda gave the Philippines the advantage after the restart.

Coach Alen Stajcic’s teachers and students climbed to the top of the table after the second match with 6 points, 2 points behind Thailand after a 2-2 draw against Australia earlier in the day.
